Grandfathered Clients in the Support at Home Programme

If you were on a Home Care Package (HCP) before 12 September 2024, you’re a grandfathered client.

This fact sheet explains what the new Support at Home programme means for you, starting 1 November 2025. We’re here to make this change easy. You’re protected to stay “no worse off” and keep on living well at home.

What Does "Grandfathered" Mean?

What Happens on 1 November 2025?

Your Care and Services

Your care stays tailored to you, with help from My Way to plan what you need.

You can keep getting services like nursing, help with daily tasks (e.g., dressing or transport), or everyday support (e.g., cleaning or meals).

If your needs change, you can ask for a reassessment to get more help, like restorative care to boost your independence.

Your Funding and Budget

What You’ll Pay

Extra Funding

If you had supplements (e.g., for dementia, oxygen, veterans, or remote areas) on 31 October 2025, you keep them until reassessment.
These extras add to your budget to cover specific needs, so you’re fully supported.
